Help keep Newington clean

Since November 2024 Newington Community Centre has been a CleanUp UK hub.

CleanUp UK provided the centre with litter picking equipment suck as pickers, rings, gloves and hi-vis vests. Equipment can be used by anyone who would like to do a litter pick.

Each week a team gather outside the community centre and go around the estate clearing as much litter as possible.

We took part in the CleanUp Uk big Spring clean in March 2025. Residents joined us and we had 15 pickers walking the streets of Newington and 29 bags of litter was collected and all fly-tipping was reported.

Since November last year we have collected 139 bags to date.

We aim to continue to keep Newington clean and tidy and would love for you to join us in doing so.

Our litter picks are for everyone and anyone who would like to take part. We are also family friendly so children can get involved too.
